 your first dental visit

visit new dentist for first timeFor optimal dental health, we recommend that you have a
complete dental exam and cleaning once every six months.
This ensures that your teeth are well-maintained and any
problems are spotted early, before they become of
significant concern.

what to expect at the dentist
We will perform a complete, accurate assessment of your
dental needs prior to any treatment, even before a dental
cleaning. This comprehensive examination includes:

• Radiographic exam (x-rays)
• Oral cancer exam
Gingival (gum) exam
• An assessment of TMJ function
• Occlusal (bite) evaluation
• Charting and assessment of existing restorations
• Examination of the teeth for cavities, fractures,
and other problems.

The entire exam takes approximately one hour and ten minutes.

My wife and I have been seeing
Dr. Stanfield for over 20 years, and we think he couldn’t be a more personable or caring dentist! We really appreciate Dr. Stanfield’s personal service and caring attitude. He always makes a point to check us thoroughly based on our recent medical history. It’s nice, too, that sitting in the dental chair looking at the lake is such a peaceful, nice setting.

what to expect from your dentist
We do accept x-rays from other dentists as long as they are of diagnostic quality and are current. Bitewing x-rays must have been taken within the past six months, and Panorex within the past five years. X-ray copies must not be too light or too dark. (Often the x-rays we receive from other offices are of poor quality.)

high point flexible payment options
We do accept assignment of benefits from your dental insurance carrier. We will file your insurance for you, but you will be responsible for any co-payment required by your policy. Please note that we do not accept HMOs or PPOs.

For any services not covered by insurance, we offer flexible payment schedules and accept credit cards including Mastercard and VISA. For larger cases, we provide our patients with
financing options to ensure that they can get the dental services they require without
causing themselves significant financial hardship.
